The Team

Jaisim Fountainhead was founded in 1970. Over a span of four decades the firm has undertaken and executed scores of projects in almost every aspect of the building industry. Building on a philosophy that is committed to the earth and dedicated to the client, every creation bears the unmistakable trademark of Jaisim – iconoclastic, individualistic and eco-friendly.

Ashwini Jaisim Bhat

Ashwini is Jaisim’s daughter. Although she did not pursue architecture through her education, she has grown up living in its shadow. A psychologist, freelance writer, and a mother of two, she joins Jaisim Fountainhead (2011) with a view to handling communications for the firm and will take on more responsibilities as and when required.

 

 

 

 

Shruti M Vedavyas

Shruti has been a member of the team since 2007, when she joined as a young intern and been with the team ever since. Her journey through the years have led her to handle projects of all scales and sizes- from micro homes to university campuses. She believes that design thinking and exploration is at the very core of all projects and its outcome. Shruti is a tea player, donning roles as required by the project. She is active on the academic front as well, serving as visiting faculty and jury for numerous colleges.

Shruti is also pursuing her Masters in Anthropology, with the goal of deeper understanding of Architectural Antrological equations that shape our world.

Diwakar

Diwakar has worked with JF as a civil/Structural Engineer since May 2000. Initially his work entailed only quantity surveying and preparation of tenders for various projects. Gradually he took on structural design and his first project in the field was the Library Block at the Bangalore Club. Since then, Diwakar has not looked back and has continued to explore the various methods that the Engineering field uses to suit Architectural requirements. Some of the projects Diwakar has worked on include the PGDMS College, SIT (Tumkur), the Tee Jay Hospital (Salem), SUVIDHA, a retirement village (Bangalore), the Amber valley Residential School (Chikmagalur) and several residences too.

Apart from work, Diwakar enjoys traveling and trying out new gadgets.

Usha

Usha has a Diploma in Architecture and has worked with Jaisim Fountainhead since December 2000. Although she has worked on some architectural projects, her main focus at the firm is Technical Administration and Finance. Outside of work, Usha is very busy with her young daughter Kushi.

 

 

 

 

Chaitra

Chaitra joined our team in 2002 and has been with us since then.

An Architect involved in all areas of Planning, Design and Detailing. Chaitra believes that ‘From the sketches on the drawing board to a realized project is a seed, we sow, nurture till it grows to a mature individual standing on its own with an identity’. She has been leading projects of varying scale from Institutions, Hostels, Hospitality, and Community living to smaller residences and Interiors. She deals every project with the renewed enthusiasm and finer depth. She has always been a team player involving Junior Architects and Interns guiding them through the path of design and details.

Chaitra also pursues her passion in Music. She is a Veena player and practices over weekends. She is also a fitness enthusiast and runs Marathons.

Poornima M. R.

Poornima has a Diploma in Architectural Draftsmanship from the RVTI College. She joined Jaisim- Fountainhead as a Draftsman in Dec 2012, and works on a variety of projects.

Outside of work Poornima spends most of her time at home with her family and pets. She sketches, enjoys music, plays badminton and likes to read novels.

 

 

 

 

NEEL BHANDARE – Junior Architect

Neel graduated from KS School of Architecture in 2024.

He is passionate about architecture and design. Neel has a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of spatial awareness, allowing him to analyse and interpret architectural environments. Often seen merging architecture principles with the spontaneity of artistic endeavours, he consistently brings a fresh viewpoint to the projects.

His interests lie in blending different creative fields to bring unique perspectives to his work. Complementing his design work, he explores artistic expressions behind the decks, mixing music and creating visual art.

RAMYA – Senior Architect

Ramya graduated from UVCE in 2016 and has been with our firm since then.

She believes architecture should be experienced through all the senses and integrates texture, light, and life into built spaces. Each space should reflect its user and purpose, creating a deeper connection between them. Ramya gets involved in the projects with complete dedication and working on details. A strong advocate of using and reusing materials for various works, she explores variety in materials and in its usage.

Ramya is an Animal and bird lover and is always on a lookout for them.

SHOBHANA – Senior Architect

Shobhana graduated from Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management in 2018 and joined our team at JF in 2019.

With a deep fascination for architecture and its ability to shape human experiences, Shobhana's approach to life and design is simple – she believes in observing people and absorbing their essence to imbibe them into spaces. She's particularly drawn to clean, minimalist lines and playful elements, which fascinate her and drive her sense of design. Always on the lookout for innovative, whimsical solutions to any problem that comes her way.

Outside of work, Shobhana enjoys getting lost in a good fictional book or exploring her creative side through various arts and crafts projects. Her curious nature drives her to continually learn and grow.

MAHEMA – Junior Architect

Mahema, a 2023 graduate of BMS College of Architecture, is originally from Erode.

She holds a unique perspective on architecture, believing that a building's beauty is not static, but rather unfolds differently to each user based on their individual approach and interaction with the space. This belief highlights her focus on the user experience and the dynamic relationship between people and their built environment.

Her diverse interests encompass art, craft, and Bharatanatyam dance, demonstrating a strong foundation in creative expression.

SAGAI RAJ CRUZ – Associate Architect

Sagai Raj Cruz joined our team in 1999 and has grown immensely in the company.

Sagai has handled projects of varying sizes – from Institutes to Office Spaces. He led multiple teams and has spear-headed projects single handedly. He believes in integrating Natural Environs with built spaces and has implemented the same in all projects. A firm believer is delivering projects on time, he has been instrumental in handling large scale projects. His new found passion has been Permaculture and its integration with Built forms. Sagai has received two National Awards for his work from A+D and IIID.

Beyond work, Sagai is very passionate about Badminton and is a fitness enthusiast.
